Shaw began his career as a co-founder of Austin’s iconic Amy’s Ice Creams in 1984. His leadership extended to transformative roles at Café Tu Tu Tango, a Nation’s Restaurant News “Hot Concepts” award-winner, and Austin Grills, an award-winning Washington, D.C.-based restaurant group. In 2000, Shaw founded Fishbowl, a pioneering venture-backed marketing and analytics company for the restaurant industry, serving as CEO for 16 years and cementing his legacy as a thought leader in hospitality technology.
At ARP, Shaw focuses on the strategic development and growth of the company’s portfolio, including identifying, financing, and launching new concepts. He is also deeply involved in shaping ARP’s culture and other elements of the company’s people-first strategy.
Shaw’s community leadership reflects his commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing the vitality of Alexandria. He serves on the Boards of the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership and Tall Ship Providence Foundation, and was named Alexandria Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in 2023.
